    hating france is very popular right now... not sure why (besides the traditional reasons and now their recent falling on the opposing side of US foreign policy wishes...)

    Also, I must note - that the french people that I encounter were rude to Americans even when they weren't in France... (I just assumed they hated tourists... seems like they are rude all the time/everywhere.... of course i'm generalizing... and don't actually hate french people... or any people for that matter... but stereo types are fun, no?)

    *shrug* WTF do I know anyways...

    France likes "using" their position on the UN security to spiting America's face. How about France, do they consult the UN when they have international "issues"? This is a cut out from a recent news article that is dovoid of France's cooperation with the United Nations. In fact, France appears to be acting "unnilaterally" in their own best interests... "France announced Wednesday it was strengthening its troops in Ivory Coast to more than 3,000, as thousands of loyalists kept up anti-French protests over a Paris-brokered peace accord." In the spirit of fairness, when did France consult anyone before seending in 3,000 troops tointerfere in another nations affais? The French are hypocritical asses!

    Just to note, I am Canadian too, but I still hate the French. In fact, I hate them just as much as people from Quebec, who happen to be exactly like the French. They hate everyone and everyone hates them. Question: How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris? Answer: No one knows it's never been tried. Hahaha. Well I though it was funny. A famous world war 2 general once said "I would rather have a German division in front of me
    than a French one behind me". Just for your information, that general was General Patton. Even great men hate the French. It is one of my favorite pastimes.

    In the 1770's France and America formed an alliance, negotiated by Benjamin Franklin, stating that each would consider the other a "most favored nation" for trade and friendship; France would be obligated to fight for American independence and America would be obligated to stand by France if was should occur. The French soldiers died for the American Revolution as did American soldiers died during WW2 while the French spent their time in the catacombs philosophising. France and America have been allies longer than any other nation, but France's trade interest with Iraq got in the way. France is one of the top three profitters off of trade with Iraq (the other two are China and Russia). This is the reason why France will not support us and Americans take it as a stab in the back. Especially since they expect us to hand everything (by this I mean setting up a new government) over to them after its our troops bloodshed that removed the despot. We saved France from Hilter and are now trying to help another country free themselves for a Hilteresque dictator. We looked for support and got a slap on the face. And if your one of those who think that this war is only about oil (it may at least partially be), you should talk to an Iraqi civilian who is being led into a gas chamber or tortured to death. saber

    I love the French! Many of them are some of the most delightful people I've ever met. I'll forever be fascinated and in love with the country AND the people! No one will disuade me....Granted they do have the reputation for being rude, and sometimes that holds true, but I will always absolutely LOVE THEM!!!!
