Ben Folds is pushing back the release date of his next solo album to early 2005 in order to give "Star Trek" veteran William Shatner's upcoming collection, "Has Been," his full attention.

Coming, December 8 at 9 PM, on the SciFi channel, Battlestar Galactica, reimagined for the 21st century. The trailers for the mini-series are really cool! Be sure to watch them both.
Taking a few pages from T2, the cyons are no longer "walking toasters," they look just like us...
There are lots of other updates, too - the Apollo character is a now female. Woo hoo!! Let's hear it for women's lib ;)

We had posted some links about the possibility of a new Battlestar Gallactica show a couple of years ago, but no show came.
Well, it looks like the new show will hit the SciFi channel in the form a mini-series on Dec 8th, and then a regular series if it goes well.
Apparently the premise of the new show has many die hard fans of the original up in arms. Even Rich Hatch, the original Appollo and a big player in pushing for a revival is angry, FRAK!
The new show will start from the beginning and have many differences.
Two of the main characters that were once guys will now be chicks... Now it's ok for Starbuck and Appollo to get it on back at the barracks...
And here's an original idea, a hot blond chick who's character's name is 6.... Wonder if she's part robot too...

The final version of the The Matrix Reloaded preview has been released from the Warner Bros. web site. Awesome, better for high bandwidth users, of course.
Also, check out The Animatrix .. there's some pretty cool stuff there, including 3 animated Matrix-related shorts.
Has anyone see the Animatrix preview shown as a preview during screendings of the Dreamcatcher (Stephen King's newest book to film)? That was good, too. Very Final Fantasy-like in the animation style
rampy->i'm trying so hard not to look.. although I did read the article on the Matrix special FX in this months wired magazine...

A brief article about taxing sci-fi trekkie and starwars geeks extra on related products to fund NASA's space program...
A “NASA tax” of 1% would apply to all science fiction books, comic books, space sciences books and any other space-related literature. The tax would apply to “space, space-related, and science fiction toys, puzzles and games.”
