Heavier Than Heaven: The Kurt Cobain Biography
This book was given to me as a present. And I am very glad that it was.
If you have any intrest in Nirvana, Kurt Cobain or the grunge music scene; then this book is for you.
Not only does it detail Kurt\'s life in great (accurate) detail, but it also talks about the influences on his life and music.
The author has gone to great lengths to ensure the accuracy of the book- he had access to photographs, interviewed the people who were closest to Kurt and also had access to his journal- with some very revealing insights into the legend. The book manages to dispell many of the myths surrounding Kurt- many of them started by himself.
If you want to find out the true story of Kurts life; his struggle with heroin, his tragic family life, his troubled world, his rise to stardom and all the pains and anguish that came with it, his suicide; then read this book. It traces his life from early childhood, to his rise to fame, and then to his untimely death. My reveiw won\'t do this book justice- it is an incredibly moving and touching peice of writing that still remains, for the most, factual and as accurate as you will get. Obviously, the conspiracy theorists will be out in force, shouting their disproval at this book, saying that its all propaganda from Courtney Love- but personaly, I thought this book gave me a deeper insight into Cobains life; and above all, it was an enjoying read.
The only thing that remains for me to do is to tell you to go and buy the book. You will thank yourself after you have read it.
9/10- incredible
